The village has its own Automated External Defibrillator (AED) installed outside the main school building in Lower Street.

A defibrillator is a very safe and easy to use electronic device designed to be used by a layperson. It automatically reads the heart rhythm of someone who may have suffered a cardiac arrest and diagnoses if an electrical shock is needed to restore a normal heart rhythm.

It is used at the same time as CPR is performed which is vital in increasing the chance of survival.

REMEMBER in the event of someone suffering a cardiac arrest:-

Call 999  >> Start CPR immediately >> Use the Defibrillator when instructed
