The village tradition of the Annual Show of Produce took place on Saturday 5th September in the Memorial Hall, supported as in the past by a good number of visitors viewing the entries and enjoying the cream teas. The organisers would like to thank all those who exhibited for all their hard work and support in making this another good show.
The windy weather took its toll resulting in reduced entries in the flower section. There were more entries in the children’s classes this year, and the school participated in the handwriting competition. The Society is supporting, financially and practically, the school’s Gardening Club and encouraging results were displayed at the show. Grateful thanks to Northend Nurseries and Lloyds Farm Butchers for their donations of compost and topsoil in support of this project.
We would like to thank all those who helped on the day, thanks as usual to Miss Barbara Hall for the bouquet of flowers. The success of the show has given the committee the incentive to continue to put on this annual event so keep your entries coming in!
